The Dance

By Garth Brooks

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I the king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

  • Seriously?? Are you stupid??

How the hell did this song get a 9.xx rating as a wedding song, it about a woman leaving a man and him recalling "the dance" or the life that they shared together for a moment in time, it's right in the first few lines of lyrics, let me help you out, this is right from the lyrics above "Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you'd ever say goodbye"

There ya have it, it's not a love song.....

  • this song shouldn't even be here

This song is great.....if you're getting divorced. It should be removed. Love the song, just not for a day filled with love, like a wedding.

  • WHAT?

This song is terrible. Who even put this on this list? I can just imagine what would happen if someone played this at their wedding. Oh man!!
